4th of July

By the time you read this, we'll hopefully be on a plane Los Angeles! We are flying out West for a few days for our friend's wedding in Santa Barbara, and we decided to extend the trip to see old friends we haven't seen in 3 years (!) who live in LA. We have a 7:45 AM flight on the 4th, and will get in to LAX right around 10AM. We wanted to make sure we squeezed in as much as we could for 3 days so leaving early on the 4th made the most sense.

We will meet our friends at their parent's house and celebrate birthdays all around. Thursday, Connor & I will probably head to Santa Monica and walk around the pier and farmer's markets. We have scoped out some places to eat (obviously, food is ALWAYS first priority!) and are so excited to be able to explore a new city! Friday, I think we'll drive around in Hollywood/Beverly Hills for a bit. I was inspired by VA Belle's blog post about her travels, and I definitely want to check out the Ivy to see a celeb! See her posts here, here, & here. I also have checked out my original favorite food blogger, Adam Roberts/Amateur Gourmet. He moved from NYC to LA last year and has done an amazing job trying all sorts of restaurants that I hope we can visit. I totally trust his recommendations. He's great!

Friday night we'll take our hosts out to dinner at ink., which is Michael Voltaggio's new restaurant. The menu looks amazing and it has gotten stellar reviews!

Saturday morning we'll wake up bright & early and hit the Pacific Coast Highway (eeee!!!!) to drive north the 2 hours to Santa Barbara. The wedding will be in Carpinteria, which is about 15 minutes from Santa Barbara. We will hopefully get a chance to walk around town and enjoy the weather a bit (it's supposed to be gorgeous!) before the wedding that night. Sunday we don't have to be back in LA until 9:30PM (we're taking the 11:00 PM red-eye) so we'll hang out in Santa Barbara for a while before hitting the road back to LA.

We are so excited! Hope you have a fun 4th of July!

Have fun in LA! I've never been to Santa Monica but I've always wanted to go. If you do spot a famous celebrity in Hollywood, make sure to let us all know so we can live vicariously through you!
